摘要
Haifeng Fan is currently professor of geochemistry in State Key Laboratory of Ore Deposit Geochemistry, Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research is centred on using metal (Fe, Si , Zn, Tl, Se, Mo) isotopes to understand the co-evolution of ancient life, extreme climate-oceanic environment and important sedimentary deposit events during critical intervals in Earth’s history. His recent work has focused on the evolution of oceanic redox stritisfied structure, esspecially before and near “cambrian explosion”. He investigated Si, Fe, Zn isotope and metal element concentratiosn of cherts, phosphorites and black shales during Ediacaran-Cambrian boudary, and proposed that the dominant silica source in the Ediacaran ocean is continentla weathering, the deep water in the Nanhua basin is primarily characterized by a ferruginous condition during the late Ediacaran, and Zn geochemical cycling in the early Ediacaran oceans was similar to that of modern oceans.
